We sent Decorview designer Christa to Orlando’s condo (which he playfully nicknamed Orcondo) to help him select window treatments for his newly renovated place. Many of Orcondo’s windows presented some serious design challenges – including odd-shaped and hard-to-reach windows. One of the benefits of working with Decorview is our free in-home design service. After exploring fabric, style and hardware options, Orlando was able to find the perfect solution for each window.
Fast forward to today, condo renovations are complete and the window treatments have been installed! So what did Orlando choose for Orcondo?
For the 2-story window expanse in the living room, he chose roller shades in a crisp white to match the condo’s bright modern design aesthetic. Because manually operating the upper shades would be difficult, Christa suggested each shade be equipped with motorization.
Automation is the most advanced operating system on the market and will allow Orlando to control and schedule his shades with the touch of a button. Each shade also features a corresponding white valance that blends into the white walls and hides all operating components, as well as the shade when open.
For the TV loft, guest bedroom and master bedroom, Orlando chose custom drapery panels in a white textured fabric, which added softness and visual interest to the windows. Because each room included a door wall, the drapery panels traverse and stack neatly aside when open.
For a more modern look, the top of the panels feature an inverted pleat style and are attached to a sleek, square wood rod in a rich stain. Look familiar? This hardware style is a favorite of Emily Henderson’s (she has this style in her home too!).
